Understanding Pálinka
Hungarian pálinka places the fruit at the centre of the spirit. Apricot, plum, pear and sour cherry can offer strikingly different aromas, textures and finishes. Bottles may be rested, barrel-aged or presented with fruit, so examine the description carefully. Pálinka should not be treated as a synonym for any sweet fruit-flavoured drink.
