Understanding Vermentino
Vermentino is known as Rolle in southern France. Across its coastal and inland sites it can make light, fresh wines or more textured examples. Citrus, herbal detail and an almond-like edge are useful reference points. A coastal origin can be informative, but a saline impression is a tasting description rather than proof of salt in the wine.
