Understanding Sauternes & Barsac
Sauternes and Barsac are Bordeaux appellations associated with sweet wines, often based on Sémillon with Sauvignon Blanc and sometimes Muscadelle. Noble rot can concentrate berries and contribute honeyed, complex aromas. Vintage conditions and careful selection matter. Richness is most rewarding when freshness keeps each sip defined.
