Understanding Petite Sirah
Petite Sirah is usually the grape Durif, a crossing involving Syrah and Peloursin; it is not simply a small version of Syrah. It can add colour and structure to blends or become a concentrated varietal wine. Texture is the useful test: generous fruit should carry the tannin without making the finish feel hard or hot.
