Understanding Amaretto & Nut Liqueurs
Amaretto sits alongside hazelnut, walnut and other nut-led liqueurs on the after-dinner shelf. An almond-like aroma does not identify the ingredients: Luxardo's amaretto, for example, draws that flavour from fruit stones. Recipes and textures differ substantially across producers. Read ingredient information rather than using a flavour description to infer what a bottle contains.
