Understanding Fruit Liqueurs

Fruit liqueurs combine a spirit base with fruit flavour and sweetness. Chambord's berry infusions and Luxardo's apricot infusion illustrate two different approaches. They are distinct from unsweetened fruit eau-de-vie: a pear liqueur and a pear brandy need not taste or mix alike. Look for a recognisable fruit character and use the producer's description to understand what is inside.
