Understanding Cabernet Franc
Cabernet Franc is both a blending grape in Bordeaux and the focus of many Loire reds. Cooler expressions can be fragrant and herbal; riper examples deepen toward plum and spice. A green note is not automatically a fault, but it should fit the fruit and texture. Compare standalone wines with Merlot-led blends to see its different roles.
